Hey, here’s a link to an older post about the brushes I use: http://flurgburgler.tumblr.com/post/156855931053/you-offered-to-post-some-links-to-brushes-and-that
As for a painting method, I’m not really sure I have one. I know that’s such a frustrating answer, but certainly for me, colouring is really just a case of trial and error. Here’s a few of my colour palettes: http://flurgburgler.tumblr.com/post/162251200053/i-had-an-anon-waaay-back-asking-me-about-my-colour
I tend to start off with the palest colour as the background and the darkest colour for the lines. I usually choose whatever colour is slightly darker than the bg to do the shading on the skin. After that, it’s really just me messing around with the colours I have left to do the hair and clothes. I use the same brush the whole time, just changing the size of it depending on whether I’m drawing lines or colouring. I prefer dry ink brushes because they give a pencil-y effect when they’re small, and an inky/watercolour effect when they’re scaled up. And I literally just use the brush tool; I have no idea what masks or levels or any of that other stuff is (they look cool when other people use them, but I am literally so clueless, I apologise)
Sorry that’s not hugely useful, I guess it’s just difficult to explain something that isn’t very precise? But I hope the links can help a bit!
